WITH iLISTEN VERSION 1.6.8 Salem, NH - May 4, 2005 - Macintosh speech recognition authority MacSpeech today announced version 1.6.8 of iListen with many enhancements including new features to support Mac OS? X v10.4 ?Tiger?. The new version allows users to access Spotlight and Automator applications by voice. Spotlight is Apple's new lightning fast way for users to find virtually anything stored on their Mac. iListen 1.6.8 users will be able to say "Open Spotlight" followed by the word or phrase they would like to search for to enable hands-free searching. For Automator, a new workflow application lets users easily automate repetitive tasks, all users will have to do is drag an Automator application they have created to a new command editor window in iListen and give it a name. From that point forward, all they will have to do is speak the name in order to run their workflow task. "iListen 1.6.8 represents both our commitment to stay up-to-date with Mac OS X , as well as provide tremendous new capabilities to our users," said MacSpeech Chief Evangelist Chuck Rogers. "We believe breakthrough Tiger features like Spotlight and Automator are going to fundamentally change the way people use their computers," said Ron Okamoto, Apple?s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. " Using iListen and voice commands to make detailed searches and repetitive workflow tasks much easier is a fantastic use of the innovations in Tiger." In addition to the Tiger-specific features, 1.6.8 also introduces several other enhancements, including new Transcription AppleScript commands and a description field in the Command Editor to enter comments about how the command should be used. For a complete list of enhancements and bug fixes, users should consult the MacSpeech web site (www.macspeech.com). The 1.6.8 update will be available in May and is free to all existing users of iListen 1.5 or later. Users of previous versions of iListen can upgrade for only $39.95. About MacSpeech, Inc.
