Greetings!
As January comes to a close we wanted to bring you up to date on some
the exciting stuff that has been happening at MacSpeech.
Macworld Expo was a huge success for us, as we once again nearly sold
out of the products we brought to the show. We also introduced a new
Spanish LanguagePak, which sells for $75 and is available immediately
from our online store.
January also saw the release of our ScriptPaks for Quicken 2006,
QuickBooks Pro 2006, and TurboTax 2005. These new ScriptPaks allow
you to control those applications with your voice. As with all
ScriptPaks, they have no effect on iListen's built-in ability to
dictate nearly anywhere you would normally type. The new ScriptPaks
are available immediately in our online store.
We are also pleased to announce that iListen will soon be available
in the Apple retail stores in the United Kingdom. To celebrate, we
are giving presentations at each store next week. If you live in
England, please try to visit one of these presentations and get your
questions about iListen answered:
30 January 5PM - Meadowhall Apple Store, Sheffield
31 January 7PM - Trafford Centre Apple Store, Manchester
01 February 7PM - Regent Street Apple Store, London
02 February 7PM - Regent Street Apple Store, London
03 February 7PM - Bull Ring Apple Store, Birmingham
04 February 7PM - Bluewater Apple Store, Greenhithe, Kent
Our most frequently asked questions these days is "will iListen work
on the new Intel-based Macs?" and "when will iListen be native?" The
good news is that iListen works fine on the new Intel-based Macs,
running under the built-in Rosetta emulation. Performance is about
the same as you would get on a new G5. We are also working on a
native version of iListen for later this year. It will be released as
soon as development and testing are complete.
This month we'd like to offer our customers a special deal from our
friends at Mariner Software. For a limited time you can buy
MacJournal directly from our online store for $29.95 (plus shipping).
That's $5 off the normal retail price, and it includes our MacJournal
ScriptPak – for a savings of $15! MacJournal is the world's most
popular journaling software for the Macintosh. Create a personal
journal, record daily ideas, manage scripts and novels, or generate
blogs, MacJournal has the power and functionality to do it all.
Buying from our online store couldn't be easier - simply point your
browser to www.macspeech.com and click the word "Store" at the top of
the page. To see the Mariner titles we offer, click the "Mariner SW"
link in the Sections column on the left of the page.
Thanks for your continued support!
Chuck Rogers, Chief Evangelist
